Melanie meets Daniel at the Java Cafe. She thought he had a meeting at the hospital with Jennifer. Daniel does have a meeting, but after Jennifer fell into his arms, he wants to play things cool. He attends the meeting with Maxine and Jennifer, but he is very toned down. When a pen slips and both Daniel and Jennifer's hands touch, a spark of tension rises. Maxine notices the chemistry and is glad when she is called away. Daniel decides to clear the air with Jennifer about their relationship. Daniel offers that they have chemistry, but it may be based on they fact that they are both on the rebound. They mutually agree to take things slow and shake on it. Later, Carly snaps at Daniel.
