After being turned down by Jennifer, Daniel finds his way to the Cheatin' Heart. He quickly orders a beer and begins shooting some pool to blow off steam. Melanie questions the attitude. Daniel spouts his discontent with the opposite sex. Melanie tells him he needs to be the anti-Jack. She proposes an alternative to the angry pool session. She gives him news that she has changed her name to Melanie Jonas. Daniel is overwhelmed. When Carly shows up and hears the news the family hugs. Jennifer witnesses the scene and discreetly leaves.
