Daniel is surprised when Chloe asks Phillipa dn Melanie over for brunch. He is thrilled that Chloe is making an effort to bond their family together. Daniel is grateful to her. The brunch gets interrupted when Daniel gets a call from the hospital. He has a patient that has some complications and he thinks he should be there to assist in surgery. Melanie would like to go and watch the procedure. Daniel agrees.
Carly performs the surgery with ease do the fact that Daniel was instructing her by her side. Later, Daniel, Melanie and Carly recap the operation. Carly looks at Daniel and knows it was hard for him. When Melanie asks why is that. Carly tells her, it is hard for Daniel to stand by instead of doing the surgery.
