At the hospital, Daniel stands looking at Melanie in her bed. She wakes up and asks him what he wanted to tell her. Daniel becomes overwhelmed and tears start to form. He makes an excuse that he has something in his eye. Phillip arrives and Daniel leaves without telling Melanie he is her father. Before he leaves, Phillip pulls him aside and tells him that he has his back. The hospital was bringing Daniel up on charges for letting Carly near Melanie, but Phillip tells Daniel not to worry about it. He will take care of it.
Daniel walks into the Brady Pub finding Carly telling Chloe about Melanie. Daniel lays into Carly for telling Chloe. He tells Carly to leave. He also tells her if Melanie finds out he is her father from anyone other than him, her life will be worth nothing. Carly leaves.
Daniel tries to do damage control with Chloe. She wants to know if it is true. Daniel admits he believes it is true, that Melanie is his daughter. Chloe is bitter. She tells Daniel he got what he wanted, to be a father. Chloe asks Daniel if he loved Carly. Daniel answers no. Chloe is having a hard time accepting what has come to light.
