Daniel and Melanie talk in the Horton Square. Melanie is worried for Daniel now that he has broken up with Jennifer. She also tells him that Jennifer was crying over the break up. Daniel's ears perk up. He remains steadfast that he does not want to talk about his personal life with Melanie. Melanie has a secret. Daniel thinks she should confide in her father. Daniel also tells Melanie her days of hurting people are over. He wants her to be happy. She only gets to go round once in this life, she should make the most of it. When Melanie leaves, Jack and Jennifer traipse past Daniel. It is an awkward moment when Daniel sees Jennifer. Jack confronts Daniel telling him that Jennifer will be his. Daniel realizes that Jennifer has not told him about the break up. Daniel turns and leaves, letting them sort out the news. He heads for a shot and a beer at the Brady Pub. He finds Kayla tending bar and meets a fellow baseball fanatic, Austin. They start drinking. When Jack shows up, Daniel sets aside their differences and offers to buy him a drink. Jack tells Daniel he was a fool to give up on Jennifer. He also thanks him for helping him through his meltdown the other night. He also tells Daniel that Jennifer has not chosen him either. Daniel listens as Jack laments. Kayla brings the bar tab for Daniel to sign. Kayla comments on his scribbled signature. Daniel's hands were having tremors. He sits and stares.
