In the OR, Daniel is working to save Melanie's life. He was able to get her heart started. He tells her to fight. Melanie has lost a lot of blood. Lexie tells Daniel that Carly was able to help with the blood donation. Daniel was surprised to learn that Carly is also AB-. Lexie informs Daniel that Carly is also Melanie's mother. Daniel stares.
In the waiting area, Daniel and Lexie break the good news to Phillip and the family. Melanie made it through the surgery, but she is very weak. Daniel will allow Phillip to be with her for a short time when she is moved from recovery.
