At the hospital, Phillip corners Daniel on when Melanie will wake up from her coma. Daniel is unable to answer him. He tells him she is young and her condition is stable, but no one can put a timeline on when she will come out of the coma. Daniel warns Phillip that Melanie should not sense how scared he is. He advises Phillip to go home, even if it is for an hour. He will call him if there is any change in Melanie's condition.
Chloe catches up with Daniel at the nurse's station. Daniel reiterates his concern for Chloe. He has arranged for her to see a therapist this afternoon to help her get over the non pregnancy. Chloe is hurt that Daniel thinks she is crazy. Daniel assures her he doesn't think that, but feels she does need to talk things out. Daniel's pager goes off and he has to leave. Chloe makes a sarcastic remark that "Daniel has it all figured out".
Later, Daniel has a chance to update Maggie on Melanie's condition. It prompts her to make a call to Nathan.
Daniel catches Carly trying to sneak into Melanie's room. He pulls her into the lounge and gives her hell. There is a restraining order on her to stay away from Melanie. Carly pleads her case to Daniel that she is Melanie's mother and she needs to be by her side. Daniel gives in and allows her five minutes alone with Melanie.
