At the hospital, Daniel peeks in to check on Melanie. She is resting, Daniel leaves. He goes to visit Maggie. Maggie offers to listen. Daniel is looking for advice on how to go forward with Melanie. He is worried about his instant parent skills. Maggie tells him that Melanie respected him before she knew he was her father. Things will unfold as they will. Daniel calls Maggie wise. He also notices Maggie is favoring one of her arms. He calls her on it. Maggie tries to fluff it off, but Daniel is not leaving until he sees her hand. He recognizes that she is showing signs of her Myasthenia gravis flaring up. Daniel insists that she go with him to see a doctor.
At the hospital, Daniel has arranged for Maggie to see the head of Neurology immediately. He tells her he will get someone to help her to the consultation room. Maggie refuses the help. She will go there on her own. Daniel will wait for her. When Maggie leaves, Daniel decides to check on Melanie. She has just woken up when Daniel arrives. They banter back and forth trying to ease and uncomfortable situation. Daniel is pleased to see Melanie's receptive attitude with whim. They will take it one step at a time. Melanie tells him he is a world renown surgeion and she is a nursing school drop out. She wonders what happened in the gene pool. Daniel tells her that she is one of the most gifted students he has ever seen. Melanie smiles.
When Maggie returns, Daniel asks questions. Maggie tells him the doctor recommended a change in medication. It has put her mind at ease and taken some of the stress away. Daneil continues to ask questions. Maggie silences him, telling him she will be fine. She heads off for a quick visit with Melanie before Daniel can take her home.. While Daniel is waiting, Brady arrives and is looking for Maggie. Daniel tells him she is with Melanie. Brady tells Daniel he has some news for her. Daniel asks what it is. Brady replies, he is going to ask his girlfriend to marry him.
