At the hospital, Chloe goes to see Daniel. She learns that he has pushed Melanie into clearing Carly's name. Daniel doesn't want to argue. He encouraged Melanie because of Melanie. Daniel recognizes Chloe's insecurities are coming to the surface. He asks her how her therapy is going. Chloe dismisses it and focus back on Carly. Daniel tries to persuade Chloe that it is what it is and Carly and Melanie are now part of their lives. Later, Daniel finds Chloe berating Carly. He interrupts and tells Chloe he can defend himself. Chloe leaves. She will meet him for dinner. When she leaves Carly asks Daniel if he will keep her informed about Melanie. Daniel fumes. He is sick of secrets and that will not be happening.
Daniel enters the Java cafe with flowers for his dinner date with Chloe.
